GSM (grams per square metre) measures paper density. Higher GSM generally means a thicker, more rigid card.
Common choices
- 300 GSM — a solid everyday card.
- 350 GSM — noticeably premium; the most popular choice for corporate cards.
- 400 GSM+ — luxurious and rigid, ideal with soft-touch or foil.
Pairing weight with finish
Soft-touch lamination and spot UV work beautifully on 350 GSM and above. Heavy duplexed cards (two sheets laminated together) make room for coloured edges.
